The book Lord of the Flies by William Goldin is about a groups of boys stranded on an island with no adults. The island where they are trapped is somewhere in the middle of the Pacific Ocean and no one knows they are there. The boys struggle to survive and maintain a certain type of order to live in a civilized way. The protagonist is called Ralph how tries to be civilized and have laws, but the antagonist, Jack wants to take Ralph power as a leader and act like uncontrollable savages. The main conflict is the struggle for power and their debate on how they should live.
I personally liked the book a lot because it had a little of everything: adventure, action, suspense, and friendship. the book is filled with symbols that represent society and that makes us think who we are as a society. the character are not full grown so its very interesting to see them grow as persons and see how they change throw out the story. I enjoyed its writing because it was very detailed and very descriptive, and made me feel like i was also part of the story. I would recommend this to my brother because he and me have similar tastes in books.
